I am standing in this election to give the electors of Northampton North an opportunity to vote Green. A Climate emergency has been declared by Parliament and I believe that it is time to put the environment first in all areas of life, work and politics.
I have been a member of the Green Party for 27 years, and have supported other candidates in previous elections, in particular as Election Agent. I was a Green town councillor in Stroud in the 1990s.
As an ex-teacher, I have seen the effect of austerity on schools and children and on people’s lives. The Green party's manifesto represents a radical shift from 'politics as usual' that has created this unfair and unequal society. Our aim is to take action on the climate and at the same time build a more fair society for us all.
