THE VENUE
Following last year's successful regional conference, our first since the COVID-pandemic, we're delighted to announce that 2023's edition of the East Midlands Green Party Regional Conference will take place on Saturday 24th June between 11am and 5pm at the Saint Martins House conference Centre in Leicester.
THE SPEAKERS
Natalie Bennett
Member of the House of Lords
Natalie Bennett (Baroness Bennett of Manor Castle only for really formal occasions) became the second Green member of the House of Lords in 2019, having been party leader from 2012-2016.
In between speaking in the House, visiting local Green parties and schools, colleges and universities, she's been working on her first book, Change Everything: Common Sense Politics for the Age of Shocks, an accessible introduction to Green politics.
Growing up in rural Lincolnshire helped inspire Lorienne's love of the outdoors from a young age. A BSc Ecology and MSc Primate conservation ensued, deepening both her connection with nature and understanding of our impact upon it.
After undertaking research abroad, Lorienne went on to oversee the Latin American partnership projects for an international conservation charity. More recently she's drawn upon her communication skills as a qualified teacher to work in environmental education, run a citizen science project and help establish a conservation training programme at the Woodland Trust.
Lorienne started as the Project Manager at Boothby Wildland in January 2023. Her role is part of Defra's Landscape Recovery funding which the project received in late 2022.
Marcus Cain looks after the party's social media and digital output.
Marcus will be providing training for local/regional parties, candidates and elected Greens on how to improve your social media output and use it to achieve your goals.
